Brand New DeKalb Goodwill Store

And what a store it is!

If any of you are planning on stopping at the new DeKalb Goodwill Grand Opening today, you're in for a surprise. This is not your parent's Goodwill. That's for sure.

I had the opportunity to attend the "Preview Night" last night and boy was I impressed. This store is bright, clean, modern, and stocked FULL of fabulous items (at great prices too!). I was thoroughly impressed with the sales staff. They were curtious, helpful, CHEERFUL, and when the young man that rang me up as I purchased my hard-covered 9/11 book (for $1.99 may I add!) ended the sale with "Thank you for shopping at Goodwill Industries" - that was the icing on the cake. Goodwill has come a long way in the past few years and is definitely comparable to alot of non-resale stores. Their drive-thru is amazing; not only in it's beauty, but in it's functionality too. And throughout the store they occasionally have posters that remind you about Goodwill's true meaning: when you make a purchase at Goodwill, you are helping to fund training that will give someone in your community employment skills and gain the self confidence and sense of dignity that work can bring.

Kudos to Goodwill's Retail Director & the entire staff that took part in making this remarkable store come to life. Goodwill DeKalb is sure to make a huge impact on the DeKalb-Sycamore community.
